Reference period

See Intra-Community trade statistics General Guide Chapter 1.5 "Reference period".

Region of destination

Region of destination (Land):

The code to be indicated is the code of the Land within the Federal Republic of Germany where the arriving goods are intended to remain and are to be used or consumed, or treated. If, at the time of submitting the declaration, it is not yet known where the goods will eventually remain, the Land must be indicated where the goods were routed to or put on the market (for the moment). As for goods destined for a foreign country, code 25 should be entered.

See the Current version of the Country Nomenclature (only in the German language) for the External Trade Statistics.

Region of origin

The region of origin is the Land within the Federal Republic of Germany where the goods were produced, mounted, assembled or treated. Enter the Land code for goods with German origin. If the actual region of origin is not known, the code of the Land where the goods were dispatched or put on the market must be entered. As for goods with foreign origin, code "99" must be entered.

See the Current version of the Country Nomenclature (only in the German language) for the External Trade Statistics.

Register company

Declaring third parties may register in the system other businesses responsible for providing information for which they intend to submit as Manage user data >> Company registrations menu option (for more information see chapter 7.4 to the IDEV general help pages). About 10 minutes later, the newly registered businesses will be shown as potential declarants.

Register for online declaration

To log in for online declaration, declarants will need the user identification and password given to them by the Federal Statistical Office. User ID and password can be directly requested at the IDEV homepage.

See Registering for the IDEV online declaration of intra-Community trade data Chapter 1.3.

Registers of codes

Registers of codes are provided in the IDEV declaration forms and the Intra-Community Trade Data Capture Software.

Declarants who submit their data in the form of files will find the relevant codes in the Codes for file declarations in intra-Community trade statistics.

Reload local IDEV form backup

Via the button "Load backup" Load backup, forms can be reloaded, data be added and the forms eventually be transmitted.

Repairs

From the reference month "January" 2007, goods which are exported or imported for or after repair/maintenance are exempted from being declared for the purposes of intra-Community or extra-Community trade statistics.

Requests for confidentiality

Information on confidentiality in official statistics you will find here (only in the German language)

Report history

Reported data are documented in the report history. Via the report history, data that were declared online by way of either the Form declaration or the Form declaration by third parties for intra-Community trade statistics, or the File declaration for intra-Community trade statistics, can be corrected and transmitted or be cancelled. The IDEV report history includes all intra-Community trade data (of the relevant type of declaration) transmitted by the declarant during the current and the previous calendar year.

As regards the Correction form for intra-Community trade statistics, only the original transmission report can be viewed.

See Chapter 5.

Request material code

Declarants who intend to submit their declarations in the form of files need to have a material code for transmitting their data online. The Federal Statistical Office will provide the declarant with the required five-digit alphanumerical code upon successful completion of a data test.

Declarants who intend to submit INSTAT/XML files and therefore need a material code are asked to read the current Data record description for INSTAT-XML files (only in the German language) to obtain more information.

Businesses which use eSTATISTIK.core Intra Community Trade Data for compiling their declarations and require a material code are asked to see Chapter 6.3 and eSTATISTIK.core (only in the German language).

The material code is assigned to a specified format of declaration files. For this reason, a new material code will have to be requested if a changeover is made to another file format.

Request password

See "Forgotten your password" under IDEV Login Chapter 1.2

Request user identification and password for online declaration

See Registering for the IDEV online declaration of intra-Community trade data, Chapter 1.3

Respondent

The term respondent stands for a business which has registered for online declaration. Also, it covers all businesses which are additionally registered by a previously registered declarant.

Return of unprocessed material

The return of unprocessed goods must be reported under code "51" as note of transaction. In these cases, no invoice amount shall be indicated.

Return shipments / Goods returned

Credits, subsequent discounts, etc., which are not linked to any movement of goods are not to be considered. However, credits linked to movements of goods (goods returned) will have to be considered. See Intra-Community trade statistics General Guide Chapter 3.3 "Corrections" and Chapter 9.2 "Goods returned and credits".
