IDEV
-
IDEV, the internet-based data collection system of the statistical offices of the Federation and the Länder, has been designed for online transmission of data. The supply of data, collected by the Federal Statistical Office and the statistical offices of the Länder via the internet, is based on a web application. To transmit the relevant data, the declarant activates the IDEV web application in an internet browser. Depending on the statistics for which data will be supplied, the declarant can either complete an online form or use a web page for encrypted data transmission.

INSTAT/XML
-
INSTAT/XML is an XML-based message, developed at the European level, for transmitting raw data for the purposes of intra-Community trade statistics. It was developed by a working group of the European Committee for Standardization. The content of an INSTAT/XML message is housed in what is called an envelope (<Envelope>). At the Envelope level, all parties involved (<Party>) are indicated, that is forwarder (sender), recipient (addressee), declarant or declaring third party. That information is followed by the actual declarations (<Declaration>) for one or several items (<Item>) which include commodity code-related data on importing or exporting procedures.
See Chapter 6.2 (most documents are only available in the German language)
-
Integrate data
-
Data for identical variables can be integrated within a declaration month and be transmitted in the form of one declaration item.

Intrastat form N
-
The legislators have introduced new provisions regarding the transmission of data to the statistical offices. Pursuant to Art. 11a of the Federal Statistics Law of 22 January 1987 (Federal Law Gazette I pp. 462, 565), last amended by Art. 13 of the Law of 25 July 2013 (Federal Law Gazette I p. 2749), with immediate effect, all local units and enterprises are obliged to transmit their data electronically to the statistical offices. For this purpose, they have to use the online procedures provided free of charge by the statistical offices. Consequently, Intrastat form N can no longer be used to transmit data to the Federal Statistical Office for the purposes of intra-Community trade statistics.
